Shepreth results 6/9/9 - Stoke Mandeville shoot

Well, what a weekend - 4 courses in 2 days, great weather and the longest shot on a side shoot I have ever seen. First of all, I want to thank the following people for the time and effort spent setting the courses and ensuring the weekend ran as smooth as it did:- Simon Potter, Matt Rawlings, Colin Sykes, Simon Jones, Chris Boulton and Wayne Pearce - all top blokes. The food was fantastic as always, Sarah and Sue did us proud over the weekend.

To start proceedings, we kicked off with a 15 shot fun course, not massively difficult but some awkward long reducers with a fair amount of wind gave us something to swear about.

The only way to have more fun on a HFT course, is to do it in the dark.

The wind got up nicely for this course, just enough to make think about the shots. Some very good scores carded for the conitions, with Big Jon and Simon Jones showing the rest how to do it. Well done to all the class winners and a couple of people who got PB's.

The side shoot was a long shot, about 90 yards and it was up on a high pole, so the windage was a nightmare - anything from 6 inches to 18. 3 people managed to knock it down once a piece, so they shared the pot getting a tenner each. We managed to raise a total of £516 in all, which will go of to Stoke Mandeville. Thankyou to all who attended the event and made it a great weekends shooting.

    Thanks to all at Shepreth

Well folks, what can I say....a truly memorable weekend of shooting and socialising (when I say memorable, the night time is a little foggy) and who's idea was it to plough the outside edges of the field we camped in?

Thanks to all at Shepreth who organised the event, it was brilliant!!!!!!!!!!

It was the farmer - or perhaps someone who was working for him - who decided to plough the outside edges of the field despite being asked not to.
Inconvenient to say the least! Ah well.... we managed.

    Note to self:

Remember not to clip the torch to the side of the silencer on the S400 again. Never thought - the thin barrel twists when the on/off button on the torch is pressed with the result - well, you can see my score for the night shoot
    What a muppet!

Shot the safari with a borrowed gun, but what a great course!

Just seen this, Mark, so forget the PM.

An amazing amount of cash for an amazing cause.
On behalf of Rosie and the DTSGB, I'd like to give my sincere thanks for doing this. It'll mean we can do more of the work needed to bring the facilities there upto scratch - where they ought to be!!

Great big thanks to you all. £516 will buy a lot of material for the refurb and it would be lovely to meet some of you if you want to come and help on the weekend of 26th 27th September.
