    2009 summer sizzler results

Hi all, here are the results for this years summer sizzler at Popham.

After only a token turnout of our members at the two previous opens, we had over 30 club members at Popham on Sunday and a good dozen to help build the course on the Sat. This was our best turnout in years and I think goes to prove we have the format right when we run comps like the Sizzler and Bunny Bash.

So on behalf of the members and course builders, I'd like to extend a huge thank you for supporting us so well, especially with so many other events on in the region. It proves beyond doubt that there's still a welcome following for this type of competition and as such, BARPC will continue to host the Sizzler and Bunny Bash for as long as we have your support.

I'll try and get some pictures up on this thread as soon as they are forwarded to me.

Thanks for all your messages of thanks and we hope to see you again soon.

    Bob

    Hiya Mike

We missed you guys as well. I'll see if I can sort a provisional date for next year so we can work it in with the Sussex league. Hope you had a good shoot down there anyway.

Yes it was a toughie, but every target was dropped proving it can be done The 62 yarder caused some consternation, the squatting/stander through a hole some serious pain and the double jeopordy some delays which were unfortunate. The pressure on having to drop the target on the 2nd peg of lane 8 to expose the kill on the next two pegs kept the concentration levels high.

Although we had a few whistles, most of these were down to a new target stand we were trying out which once we worked out the problem, didn't occur again.

With 30 targets and 60 pegs though, not a single target was pulled, so everyone got their moneys worth

A nice dry day and some outstanding company. Oh and Adam provided the grub. 1st class

    Hiya Harv.

I had the pleasure of shooting the sizzler with Clive and Heather and we were saying it was a shame that you and the Bud weren't there. IIRC the sizzler was your very first competition, back in the days when you missed more than you hit

Things have changed a bit since then as I now miss more than I hit

I look forward to when you next dust off your springer and make it to one of our comps mate.

Had a great day with the rest of the West London Rangers Mob! Tricky courses and that 60 yarder was evil, I had to guess what mill dot 60 yards was as I only set my scope to 45 yards! Still, two plates was enough for me on that one!

The food was excellent as usual from Adam and the weather was really good as well.

Getting my first trophy made my day perfect and also two other rangers getting one on their first outside competition ever was nice.

A couple of ciders in the pub down the road after completed the day nicely

Cheers to all the work put in from the BARPC guys,

    Steve.
