    spent 5 hrs shooting @ 171yds

Guys i did some 159 yard groups a few weeks ago and it got me really excited to do more. Normally i do at least 100 sets of groups a month at my prefered 100/105 yards, so am no beginner at this.

This last weekend me brother in law ,son and myself all got out for a bit of super long range targets at 171 yards lasered

used brand new Nikkon Prostaff rangefinder to set up targets at 51, 101 and 171 pics of targets are from 171 yards.

conditions were high 70's wind 5-8mph, JSB 18gr pellets shot from all guns at 32ft/lb or 890fps.... Scopes were clicked up to zero, benchrest/bipod and rear bag used on all guns.

Best group of the day was with Rapid S-type @ 2.25" also had some pretty impressive groups from some other guns the biggest disapointment was the new AW on high power it could not muster better then a 100mm grouping but did a couple 2.5" 5 shot groups and less the flyer under 1.5" on 4 shots a couple of times

and this weekends pic of the range and the 2nd is a pic of some groups
some groups have more then 5 shots i had several groups over the day where 4 pellets were nice and tight only to blow the final shot...

i would like to have a go at some long range shooting but only have access to our 50 yard outdoor range at my club.i think 171 yards with a 12ft/lb springer would be a bit much though

haahah yes i think so that be real hard with a 12fpe springer

I have the ability to shoot at much higher power but prefer 880-900fps
with wotever pellet i am using. most often 15.9 or 18.1 JSB's but occasionally bis-mags but they dont carry as good of a BC as the JSB's

Plus the 12.3 foot drop for a 40 yard zero.
