    Cool

    Dave

it looks more like a mk2 airsporter with the fold down rearsight unless someone has replaced it...

    very nice rifle though

If you look here for the prefix, it will tell you which mark it is

Looks like a transitional model to me. Serial number prefix GC (.22) and EC (.177) denote these transitional models and after GC4900 the rifles were fitted with the MK2 rearsight with the flip up leaf.
They are still Mk1 airsporters, however it is probably more accurate to call them Mk 1.5's

True Mk 2 Airsporters started with GD and ED serial number prefix.

PS. Nice Gun in honest original condition, and well worth the money asked IMHO .

    Hi Lakey

the barrel looks to be parallel, which is strange as i though both mk1 and mk2 had the tapered forged barrel, or could it be my (old!!) eyes????

    still a gorgeous gun though

Only the MkI had the tapered forged barrel, and to my old eyes, that barrel seems straight, too, like on the MkII, so as Andy says, this must be a Mk1.5 . Ha ha. Atb: G.

The Mk 1 was known as the tapered barrel model
The Mk 2 was often called the brazed barrel model
The transition model shown has the Mk2 barrel and sights but a Mk 1 cylinder (no dovetails) making it quite collectable especially as it is in such nice condition
    good luck with sale
