P.S.......Just realised that the surname is the same as a guy who lives near me, and who is a keen shooter (powder and air)........will forward him this as I never cease to be amazed at what a small world this is!

Could that be our very own BTDT? - (2nd from the right, back row.) I recognize the button hole.

How very interesting, many thanks for posting this I’ll take a read later. Is this how the forum will looked upon in years to come I wonder? …………..
as with all these old photos i love trying to put a name to the visible airguns they are both obviously bsa ,one is and im guessing a bit ,a standard and the other either an improved or a std variant 3 [the one with the flanged cocking arm] but anyone pinning it down more precisely would be appreciated.

Great pics - rifle shooting colliers ! I bet a good few of those old Bsa's will have survived and still be in the region.
"helplessly they stare at his tracks......."
All dressed up with their ties, stiff collars and watch chains. I wonder if they actually dressed so formally to shoot?
Sad to see the moustache was dieing out in the 20's and then completely eradicated by the 30's
