Geoff Boxall, he was a hard taskmaster when testing a gun. Said what he thought AND he would pull the poor things guts out and photograph them for the public to look at.

Actually can't remember that many guns he did actually like, there were some but not sure which ones....

Fred Grimwade was a Hammerli nut.

Certainly do, cheers. God I love this collectors section -- best bit on the BBS bar none, with some of the best bloomin' blokes off the BBS, as its regulars, too . Atvb all: G.

    Hammerli data

    Hi chaps

thought following pictures may be of interest.

My original 401 purchased 79-80 refinished with adjustable butt plate and Niko sterling 3-9 x 40 sight, this originally had diopter sights and was used for 10m target, has optional sleeve barrel weight as used on 403.

403 obtained from Alistair that I am very very slowly restoring, this will have the target sights from my 401 when finished.

Hi Chris, thanks for that, you have stoked the fire further, and now, I just can't wait for mine to arrive . The one I have coming, is actually a 401 in .22 and has the push-on interference fit front sight like a Gamo and/or Webley Vulcan. Originally I chased it down to fit the action into an S.A. Jackal stock that I have, but now intend leaving it as it was intended, although after seeing yours with an adjustable butt pad and re-finished stock, may very well go that route, too . Atvb: G.
