Could try something shorter with a 3.2 wire like the JM springs. What's the rear plug/guide OD?

Totally agree! I don't change any springs without my compressor, that way it leaves one hand totally free and no heart attack! Safety first in all these things!

    Happy air-gunning

Experiment away but please share your findings with us!

Guide diameter was 14.0mm and piston I/D was 22.1mm on my FWB124.

I took my FWB apart yesterday using a hastily made compressor
The innards were in very good condition
I'll measure my guide later if i can find my calipers
My air tube and barrel need rebluing so I'll pop in to SFS and see Tony about sorting this
I'll happily try a spring POK! and post the results when I get the metalwork sorted
I have a new piston washer and breech washer from Vic Thompson
    Regards

    spring change

there are two things still give me nightmares after all these years the second worst was admitting to my wife i had accidently put her £90 cardy in the hot wash the result a garment suitable for an undersize dwarf ,the first slowly pushing my new titan 124 spring back into its home with an oversize sashclamp totaly unsuitable but "needs must the devil drives" as they say so take care!!.
