Maccari recommends using a hair-drier to heat the plastic up. He sells nice seals as well for this rifle.
Hi, is there an easy way to fit the seal to the piston head on a FWB model 124
I have probably done about a dozen of these over the years, heating them up in boiling water etc...I just wondered if any body has any usefull tips, as i always seem to stuggle with these
Thanks in advance for any usefull tips.

Baz,
I replaced the seal on my FWB recently and found it quite easy to do, just a push fit I thought? Have I missed something and will get problems later?

Oh no, not the old forgot to fit the very small retaining clip trick. it looks like i'm in deep dicky doodahs then
I think I.J. was just having a wind up my old mate, No seriously, I received a couple of seals from Maccari the other day. Came in record time, and although I haven't fitted them yet they certainly look the business..... I will fit them when i find the retaining clips
Cheers,
Ken

I have replaced four piston seals on FWB's in the last 12 months and they have all gone straight on, no probs. The safety catch can be tricky, I use a couple of cable ties to keep it in situ .you also have to use a spring compressor unless you like using your FWB as a pogo stick that is.
MK1 plastic trigger is crap as it wears on top where the safety engages, can be very dangerous if worn as you can pull the trigger with it 'on' and it will fire.
Fantastic guns though, a friend on mine has a mint 124 and 127, both MK3's, a joy to shoot.
Thats the spirit.
Once again - THIS may be of use to the prospective 'Sport stripper which is an easy rifle to do with a spring compressor.
