    Webley service mk 2

Hello all got a friend wanting to sell a mk2 webley sno 10413 in .22 the rifle seems in reasonable condition ,someone had painted it black but there does not seem to be any rust except the bolt, as for price have seen many varied valuations, here are some pics

It appears to have a nicely grained stock, but the fold down rear sight is missing, which will be expensive to replace, the interceptor seer also appears to be missing.
The finish is uncertain because of the paint, which is easily removed, but from the patches visible, it looks to be poor.
Without seeing and handling it, my guesstimate would be in the region of £200 - £250.

Have removed the barrel and cleaned paint off it looks in good condition touched up with a little blue to check finish, started on the action, metal looks clean.

It appears that the lugs to which the secondary sear should be pinned have broken off; usually this happens when the original pin is incorrectly removed or a pin of too large diameter is hammered in. I`ve seen one or two like this, and also with attempts to build up fractured lugs with weld.

I think the butt-plate might be a replacement. my valuation would be £150.

Ok done a little more cleaning think the paint must have protected the metal from rust starting to look not to bad .

The metal work finish certainly appears a lot better than first photographs would have suggested, but with the work required to get it into good condition, interceptor sear and folding rear sight, my initial estimate still stands.
I would suggest it might be a good idea to strip and inspect the internals as well.
Does it cock and fire ?
