Just a thought... Any idea of the power of this rifle?

Manufactured in 1980, if this rifle was bought from Germany, it would have to have the "F in pentagon" to be license-free there, meaning about 6 ftlbs if the spring hasn't been changed.

If the rifle really is within the German limits it might be good idea to state so in the sales ad, to avoid any complaints about missing power.

    Cheers,

Topi ...... the rifle has no "F in pentagon" marking, ie it was not manufactured to comply with the German 7.5 joule law.

It is an export model and power is @ 9.5 - 10 ft/lbs.

Interesting. Did you buy it from Germany?

If so, it should have been on a WBK (FAC) there, if it does not have the F in pentagon. Earlier airguns (pre-1971 or thereabouts) do not have the power limit in Germany, neither do they need the F in pentagon symbol.

As far as I know, if a German sells an airgun that's been on their WBK, they'll need the same sort of paper work as with a firearm to get it from their papers, i.e. some kind of paper to prove that the rifle has been sold to one entitled to possess it. This would be interesting for me as the non-F air rifles tend to be a bit less expensive at Egun than the F models. Never asked about it, though.

Of course, if the M50 was bought from, say, Austria or the Netherlands, the whole issue is moot as these countries do not have power limits for airguns.

    Cheers,
