    chairgun,,,,good or bad

i recently dowloaded the new chairgun pro as i thought it may help to plot my trajectory.
i use a bsa s10bbk in 177 and crossman prem heavy pellets,,i chrono'd the rifle and inputed all the data, scope height etc and it came up with a trajectory chart and an idel zero.
looking at the chart i could see that at 25 yards the pellet was half inch high from my 35 yard zero,,superb i thought.
to test the chart i went out into the field in good conditions and set up a target at 25 yards to see if the chart was indeed correct.
SHOCK,,,,,,the actual impact point was nearly 2 inches high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,not the half inch as chairgun had predicted..
am i missing something or is chairgun just pants,,glad i tested it on paper before quarry.
has anyone else had chairgun and found it completely and utterly wrong??.

Never that far out. But if your .177 is 2" high at 25 yards from a 35 yard zero then something is very wrong with your rifle!

I've just fiddled with my Chairgun data and I have to reduce the power down to below 6ftlbs to get that trajectory.

either you have entered the data incorrectly, your zero is out or your rifle is broke

You also have to input pellet weight and rifle power!
I find it very accurate with my 2 MTC VIPER 10x44's.

Only ever used chairgun as a guide but when i recently changed over to my leup the data was very good, i only used the poi column data which when tested was within a pellet or so,

as the others have said something seems wrong with yours, best of luck, jay

We used to have walking only in the past, but now we have cars and planes to travel...

Chairgun works really fine, just needs to be set correctly.

Its good for a rough guide but then you have to get down and get dirty but then isn't that the fun of shooting.

With the correctly collected and input data i find chairgun to be excelent, very accurate indeed. and the new pro version when you have got used to the new layout is the best yet by far.

GIGO as they used to say..... garbage in, garbage out. Check your data.... Chairgun has always been pretty good in my experience.

right,,,,,,,,,,,,,i have inputed the data correctly thankyou!!!!!,,,,,the pellet weight etc are from the pellet data base,,,,the chrono figures were taken from my combro chrono,,,as some have said it would seem that the rifle is severly down on power to have a trajectory like that,,so either my gun is down and the combro is nackered,,or chairgun isnt working correctly,i will retest the rifle over the chrono and try again....
