I too can vouch for the performance of the Alecto, only not in my hands .

I run rifle and pistol comp's on Airgun-Tec.com and the Alecto, in the right hands has performed very well against such pistold as LP10's for example. See the archive from our 2009/2010 Winter League here;- http://www.airgun-tec.com/index.php/topic,927.0.html

Far too many rifles & pistols to mention here.

Not much Adam...just get bored quickly and feel like a change.
If you watch my signature of guns it almost seems as if it's scrolling over....apart from my two FWB's though...they're the dogs!!
    Glad you're enjoying the Alecto.

The Alecto does look like it's doing well in the UBC comps, but the person shooting has to do their part as well.
It'd be interesting to see scores from the same person with an Alecto and something like a Compact, HW40, or even a FWB 103.

Have I stepped into your own personal club or something? I thought this was an open forum, and more specifically this thread inviting "VIEWS" on the Alecto.

Can you highlight a single statement I made stating that the HW40 is definitively better than the Alecto?

NO you can't because I haven't, but given your responses you'd think I did!

I have simply expressed my initial views on the Alecto's build quality, AS I SEE IT, my disappointment at any price increase, and tried to demonstrate my points with examples.

I haven't once made a single definitive statement that requires scientific evidence to back up, or yours or anyone else's approval as to my credentials.

The one fact I did state, I carried out myself; clamping my HW40 and firing off a bunch of shots to challenge just how much better the Alecto could be, and even then I posed that as a QUESTION.

If I think the Alecto looks cheaply made, then that's that!! Who on earth are you or anyone else to try and take a superior stance and state that what I perceive is incorrect?

The attitude of you and a couple of others here is downright rude, arrogant, and utterly childish, and you seem to assume some sort of hierarchy exists where newcomers have to bow to your superiority?!?!

It seems that if you see something you don't like you think you have the right to get personal, make accusations, and simply attack!

If you think I am incorrect, then grow up and agree to disagree!!

    Talk about a MOB!!!!
    Ease up Shammo,

Perhaps we are so at ease on the BBS and air our opinions as we see fit that you can hear the Mob Baying,

I do not mean to be condescending in any way But and there is always a BUT! I was burned to a crisp when first on the BBS,

I was not impressed and said so in no uncertain terms,

As you may note I am still here,

    Back to subject, Allecto/Hate/Love,

I have fired 5,000 rounds through my Allecto it is plasticky, tacky chromed, and devastatingly accurate,

It is fitted with an SMK supplied Holographic Red Dot Sight, I shoot Webley Lazadome 4.52mm pre lubed pellets through it and can take the head off a tin chicken at 35 yds with it,

I previously owned a HW 40 fitted with a 2x32 pistol scope firing Daystate 4.51mm deadly out to 20yds, Plasticky, Tacky chromed,

    The choice is yours,

    Nice to meet you,

    Bernard aka Ratty.

Also, the main compression chamber/valve assembly also looks chrome plated.

If they are then this just shows a design focus on style over substance.
And the HW40 with its molded fake slide catch, non functioning compensator, and pretend ejection ports is all about function over form right?
