Webley Mk.3 Stock Inserts -1st. Pattern

I have now received a small quantity of replica 1st. Pattern stock inserts.
These are pictures of original and replica:

The replica has a self adhesive backing, and the edges appear rough because of the backing paper.
The replica may need a spacer behind it, as it is slightly thinner than the original.
I have now made some card spacers and will enclose 2 with each insert. Those whose inserts have already been sent will receive the spacers separately.
I've just fitted an insert to an old fluted stock, and with 2 card spacers glued in, the face was just below the surface. It was a very nice tight fit in the original hole, and just needed a light tapping down with a 3/4" wood drift, so is a good friction fit with the added adhesive backing.
To age the replica slightly, I suggest a light coat of spray lacquer/varnish before inserting in the stock, unless you are going to refinish the stock as well.
I would advise great care if using a brush, as the insert is surface printed and the image could be removed by the solvent.

These are available @£8 posted, same as the original 2nd. pattern, payment by Bank Transfer, Cheque or Cash at senders risk.
