Without a picture - it sounds like a series 2, about 10,000 produced. Dates from around the late 1920s, serial number indicates one of the last without trigger adjustment.
I have in my collection a Pre-war Webley MK1 Pistol with the wooden grips serial number 9633, it has no trigger adjusting screw and the British Patent number 219872 just below the thumb catch.
Could anyone give me any info on this pistol.
Thanks.

Ok thanks for that lodmoor does that make it quite rare ?
Not particularly as there were nearly 10,000 of them, more important as far as rarity is concerned will be its condition. I have serial number 2972 but do not rate it as that special as there is virtually nothing left of its original finish mind it is over 80 years old.
