    Verminator or phoneix mk11

    Advice and Opinions wanted!
After some time I have finally decided to buy the new rifle and have decided to go for the Verminator or the Phoneix mk11.My gun will be in .22 and used for hunting rabbit and rat under 30yds.I want something a little different from the norm and thats why I am down to these 2 .I have shouldered both and both feel superb but obviously very different. If I'm honest the verm appeals a touch more but I am concerned about the reports of rusting barrels, air leaks and loose spring noise when the rifle isn't cocked. Also the verm is over £100 more.
    Advice welcome!

    guns

ive had both the verm and x2 pheonix both superb rifles, pheonix has had some problems in the past, but i never had any , both very accurate, i prefere the looks of the pheonix, but it does not hold the s/hand price very well, the verm does! lots of guys want them, i had no rust problems on any of them, but the verm does make noises (spring etc) the p/hale used to have seal probs ( mk 1) and the bottle seal can go but there the same as a rapid 7 so easy to get, both are easy to strip and repair, both great guns but i have a feeling the verm is going to win this! ps, the lever action is good and fast for ratting the shot count is around 80 ish,

    Hi,

I've not had my verminator long but i can tell you the bluing on the barrel is very deep and lustrous, it's actually more classy and deep than the bluing on my HW Barrels. As for the spring noise you have to almost shake the gun vertically to find it and then only when the breach leaver is fully closed and not cocked.
Cant comment on the leaks thing.. mines fine.. all i can say is bad news travels furthest and if you look you will find it for every gun you can think off.

I dont know a thing about your other suggestion.. might be a great gun.. not for me though.

Hope my biased opinion helps a little

Thanks for your info and input, looks like the Vermy is the fave and is the one that I should go for.My previous gun was a Daystate x2 reuglated and in 2 years of ownership it gave me no trouble in any way and was very well made and put together, but dare I say it looked boring and for me lacked excitement. I'm my own worst enemy and I am a stickler for quality and would be gutted and annoyed if I purchased something of high value and found it wanting in the quality control dept.

As with everything it comes down to personal taste. A mates Verminator didn't do anything for me, and I particularly dislike the magazine change system, though he thinks it's the dogs danglies.
Have been playing with a Pheonix (Mk1) for the last few weeks and can't fault it. Everything about it works for me, and the cocking system is hard to beat. Now thinking of selling my other guns to fund a Pheonix Mk2 in .177
BSA R10 .177, touched by the hand of Tench
    Parker Hale Phoenix Mk1 .22
    Brocock Atomic .177
