There are photos in John Knibbs' book, but those were prototypes I suppose.
One of the previous threads raised an interesting question about the BSA Magnum ( http://www.airgunbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=419457) - did BSA ever put any of their coloured versions onto the market?
In September 1996 BSA announced the introduction of models with the lower half of the frame in silver, metallic blue, red or green finish, and with the upper half black. I personally have never come across one of these, either in real life or on websites or auctions, but I do know one collector who says he has an example. Are there any of you BSA experts out there who can shed some light on this?

So they must have been produced somewhere down the line...

Damn - I was hoping someone would say that they were never put on the market. Something else to add to my "wants" list.
Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I didn't even notice that the picture Lakey pointed me to was one I had already linked in this thread! So the jury is still out - any of you collectors out there with an original coloured Magnum?
Dooohhh !
Sorry, that is what happens when you dont open a link that is posted at the top of the thread
Sorry for getting everybody's hopes up
So as the man said " Jury's still out on this one"

My senses were heightened at the imminence of the colonoscopy I must attend tomorrow. But lets draw a veil over that.
A question though, what happened to the prototypes I wonder? Does BSA maintain a 'museum' in the way Webely used to?
Pretty sure that I've seen a silver one in the past, in private ownership and not a prototype.
Fabricatum diem, pvnc!
Confirmed with the former owner that he did indeed sell a silver BSA Magnum.
He also told me where he bought it (Jeans Military Memories) and who he sold it to. I'll PM the buyer to see if he'll comment on the thread.

That's great - one aspect of the question answered for sure. Now we need someone to come forward with a red, green or blue version. These things must be very rare and highly collectable.
