Yes but the others, the wonderful kaleidoscope of cascading planeoforms and paralellograms that is the mighty Magnum, with its many hued facets glinting like the jewels of King Soloman's mines in the dappled sunlight that floods through the trees as one takes careful aim and gently squeezes the trigger.... ahhhh....
Where are they?
I like BSAs
I know for sure the 240 was sold in a Golden frame finish, because a friend of mine has brought one over from Germany, years ago.
Have seen them for sale in Holland too, these Gold coloured ones where the only 240's allowed, the all black ones where prohibited because of the resemblance with a colt 1911a1 ? (don't ask about Dutch gun laws, they are ludicrous )
Will try to make pics of my friends gun, soon.

Thanks for the photo's Frakor - the forum has come up trumps agains and solved a mystery. But can it now tell me where I can find one of these beauties at a knock down price? Whatever happens, I suppose I will be at the end of a very long queue.

Looks like BSA have missed a trick here. Build a superb air pistol and it will sell well, just like the Magnum. Then, when sales are flagging, release a few special editions, you've got a fair chance that quite a few people that already own the original will be moved to by another, and another, keeping production going for a while.
Car manufacturers have been doing it for years.

The Magnum wasn't a particularly brilliant seller, no matter how many folks wax lyrical now.
The coloured variants only showed up at the fag end of the models production run. The relative scarcity of them would hint that they were just using up what was left in the parts bin before the model was finally canned.
Fabricatum diem, pvnc!
Just had to see what a red one looked like so, out with the humbrols:-
Red Magnum
Should be dry enough to test in the morning
