The Patriot is indeed an air-defence missile and it has been adapted to shoot down some types of missile as well. They hit a few Scuds in George Bush Snr's Gulf War. You'd have to aim off alot with a Webley Patriot to hit a supersonic missile, probably a battery of them would be necessary - and they are hard to cock!

Watched a program about The Patriot Missile system !
It apparently Never hit any missiles in the gulf war it was classed as a hit IF it crossed the flight path of said incoming missile

That sounds very military. Ex landlord of mine who was Sgt. in the army once said that the words military and intelligence are a contradiction in terms.
