When I was a lad I used to live very near there. I used to wander around the woods with a local girl, funny enough her name was Hunter, and we did once lie down in a field - nuff said.
Talking to "Steve" about it, and especially hearing how good the hot dogs were, and then talking to "Andy" and hearing that he came 2nd, I was actually thinking of going and having a crack so I dug out my old .22 BSA Meteor springer circa 1940/1950 and took it down the club last night to see how good it shot.
The pellets had a lot of lead oxide on them, in fact "Clayton" reckoned that they were as old as the gun (I think he is probably right).
Anyway I shook em up a bit and rolled them around the bench a bit to get most of the dust off. They were a bit bent and bruised but what the H**ll - they are only slugs.
Anyway I stuck a few down to clear some of the rust out of the barrell and then got down to it. The 4X20 scope was a bit limiting because I kept on confusing the cross hair with a crack in the front lense, but still soldiered on.
When I finall zeroed it in I was getting good 7 - 12 inch groups at 20 metres, so I think I will pop down and give you all a bit of competetion.
