    help with my old bsa identity

    hi
    i have just inherited an old bsa break barrel rifle it has bsa in the hand grip chequering the id on it is B6259 and the stock only gos to the back of the trigger housing it is 177 cal i was told it was a bsa lincoln geoffries but i can only find them in underlever it looks alot older than a bsa cadet

    Hi, iam no expert but i think you have a BSA Pre War Break Action dated 1935 all the best

    Like Drummerboy says you have a 'BSA Breakdown' model which is the very first break action air rifle that the Birmingham Small Arms Company made. this gun was the fore-runner of all the other break action guns that BSA was to make later, such as the Meteor, Cadet, Mercury, Buccaneer etc etc.

    Production dates ran from January 1933 to Sept 1939. The cost of the gun was £2 5s 0d, which was the cheapest gun in the BSA range. The gun was a favourite choice for fairground use, where they were often converted for the firing of corks instead of pellets.
