Does anyone know how to remove the little plastic button/catch at the end of the underlever?

I have a superstar ive been renovating and I would like to make a replacement in brass.

There was a post a few days ago for a SuperStar for sale which had a brass button installed by the seller; he should know. A trawl for SuperStars for sale should turn it up!

    Good luck!

That would be me...not Brass though.......

There is a very small hole in the cocking arm, opposite the retaining pin .Find something that will fit in to it and drift the pin out .
I use a pin nail hammer, and a pin nail with the end filed off flat. It's that simple.
The whole assembly comes out of the tube once the pin is removed. Fitting is the reverse of taking it out.
All will become clear once you drift the pin out and remove the assembly, spring, circlip etc etc.
The original assembly is mainly made of plastic and is 'crap'
I made some Phosphor Bronze units that fit a treat and are self lubricating......well almost.....just need a drop of light oil.
Let me know how you go on.

Thanks guys I completely failed to spot the small pin hole I think I have some phosphor bronze somewhere, might be better than brass, although ive made the endcap in brass now and I want them to match.

    Nice one Carl!

Do the plastic ones wear a lot then? I didn't use the SS I had some while ago so didn't get that far. Have another now with intention to use it so might be a good idea on that!

Glad I rooted you out; hadn't noticed it was your post!

Happy New Year to you and all on here!

Think that I have got two left somewhere if either of you are interested. Made several at the time. Let me know if you are and I will find them out and send photos if required.
Say £6 each posted to cover the cost of postage and some more P.Bronze bar
