Course looks good, enough for everybody to hit with 21 targets below 40 yards so i predict most:
C class shooters to score around 15-25
Most B class around 20- 30
Most A class 30 -39!!!
Tondu 7th Feb
As well as the 40 shot main FT course at Tondu on Feb 7th, There will be a vermin shoot (probably 10-15 ish targets) and 20 shot side shoot. Both side shoot events will have prize money for the winner.
The 20 shot side shoot will be different though as it will comprise of three banks of targets, 2 x 5 shot and a 10 shot. Each will be at different ranges.
You have 20 shots (hence the name) but it will be scored 1 point for knocking down a target sitting, 2 points for taking the shot (and knocking down the target) kneeling and 3 points for knocking over the target standing.
We will also put on a pistol shoot if there is enough interest. Those wishing to have a pistol side shoot are asked to let Simon Evans know asap

It would be nice to see some new faces come and have a go even if its only the side shoots you have a pop at, you dant have to shoot the main.
There will also be a full range (out to 55 yards) practise / Zero range set up so you can just plink away if so desired.

Tondu staged its second Wafta winter shoot of the 2009 /10 season on Sunday Feb 7th. A good entry (for the region) of 35 shooters were not put off by the damp conditions that had dawned.
The 10 shot vermin side shot was popular through the day with nearly 30 entries, some shooters used it as a warm up to the 40 shot main course while others tackled it later on. Carl Hill and "Derk" Bendon were early birds through and both shot 9 ex 10, a score not beaten for the rest of the day.
Course designer Simon Evans (really nice chap) designed the course so that all grades would score well and keep hitting targets every couple of lanes and on the whole the plan worked, 8 "gimmie" targets were evenly spread through the various lanes keeping the hit rate up.
Target 1 was a gimmie, 40ml kill at 16 yards! Lane two saw a pair of reducers, both targets were around 32 yards, the second of the two being the infamous "Snappy" alligator lurking at the ponds edge.
It tended to be a mix of 1 inch reducers, kneelers and standers that took the marks of the shooters.
Top man on the day was John "The Bank" Lewis who once again had entrusted the guidance of his pellets to the old S400. It turned out to be a wise choice as only 4 targets failed to fall, 2 x 50 yarders and 2 x stander of 30 + 35 yards, Lewis being one of only 4 shooters to hit the longest 40 yard stander on the day. Tondu outpost member Jason Davies took runner up on 35 ex 40 with the recently serviced Styer, while "Harriers Reject" and "Go-for" to European Champion (Mike Williams,) Carl Hill finally shoot well in Wales to take third spot on 33 ex 40.
Vince Bowen made it two B class wins on the trot after a shoot off with John redwood, both finishing on 32. Young David Parton took third spot after also finishing on 32. Worthy of note was Derk "Derk" Bendon hitting 30 instead of the standard issue 26, is Derk-itus finally cured?
Making a return to Ft and thus ungraded, Richard Greenhof took "C" class with 30 ex 40 and just pipped Tondu Arms Dealer Peter "Countorik" Jacobs by one target. That one target, a 15 yard "gimmie" stander. Russell Summer put in a fine third shoot to finish on 28 ex 40.
The Wafta boys will be getting passports ready for the penultimate winter shoot that takes place at the new Avon Hawks ground on Feb 28th.
