Webley Premier A Series

I have one of these - 4 pin not 5 - (and I do not want to sell it).

I am curious though - I occasionally see B series and later come up but not A.

Are there many around?

No, there are not many. Apparently, when the first Premiers were produced they used the piston and leather washer from the Mark 1 pistol. This leather washer plus inner polythene cup washer was replaced "within a very short time" by a single PTFE washer. My guess is that there were hundreds rather than thousands of the 'A' series produced, but other members will probably have more information. Well I am no alone then!
I too have Gordon Bruce's book which,as has been pointed out, does not give numbers produced. The original piston and, I must assume, washer are still in mine and it seems to be working well.

Hi Paul,
Not Many A's around and I believe they were only produced in .177. The real Premier Holy Grail is a "pre A" pistol. 4 pins and no letter code. Anyone seen one?

Yes indeed mines a .177 - I am not about to grind the letter off and make it a "pre" either!
