Went round to help this old boy take down his workshop at the weekend and noticed a rusty HW80 leaning over in the corner.I asked him if I could have a look at it.I said this is an HW80-he said it was his sons who was into air guns and had left it in his shed years ago and I could have it if I wanted.He then goes on to say there was another one if I wanted it but it is more rusty than this one.He goes on to say he has put it on the scrap metal pile about a week ago and I could go and have that as well.I rode up the road to the scrap metal bin and there was an HW35 sticking out of it!
I got the 35 working by oiling the barrel lever and it shoots wellI took the stock off to free the trigger which was ''stuck'' on.I noticed it has a red ,square section spring
The 80 is slightly better condition but well down on power.
The rust is heavy on these babies but I will still have a good go at stripping it right back on the lathe and polisher.

Nice one mate!...my only experience like that was about a year ago.....a guy saw me working on one of my old BSA's during a break at work, and we got talking about air guns, .....the next day he brought in a mk5 airsporter for me FOC.....his missus didn't want it in the house, where it had sat on top of a wardrobe for the last 10-15 years

a freind got a tatty cobra strike for £20 with .177 & .22 spare barrels,looks a bit tatty but shoots beutiful at 11.5 with the .25 original barrel on. He bartered his freind who sold him it up from the £10 original asking price!
