Tuning Bsa Guns

If anyone has tunied a BSA lightning or a supersport,
how have thay performed as compaired to HWs

I have a .177 supersport carbine that was gunsmith tuned about 5 years ago.. The cocking action was improved but it barely reduced the sharp and viscous recoil produced by a .177 carbine ss.

tried it on a lightning .177 , smoothed it out a bit , but still only just on the 11ftlbs power any more and it became harsh again, i hear there better with a ram.
As far as HW's , brill results .

Tuning a Supersport is very satisfying. It is often a very worthwhile experience, and I have produced quite a few smooth and accurate rifles. Just a note of caution here, though. Supersports are not really happy to go above about 16 ft-lbs, because of their light weight, and the trigger limitations.

Most HWs are more heavily-built, and with an unimpeachable trigger.

However, a well-tuned, 12 ft-lb Supersport, with the SFS trigger mod, is an absolute delight to shoot.
