    Dan Wesson co2 Revolver

I gave in to the looks of this gun even though I dont do bbs.
There are two models one just loads 6mm plastic bbs into the cylinder. I bought the one with the brocock like shells into which you put your steel or lead 4.50bbs. You just press them into the business end then load like the real thing either by hand or the speed loader you get with it. All good fun.
You also get a weaver type rail and an amusing instruction book translated from chinese!

Very well made for the money. Not a single blemish on mine.
So far so good but when I tell you that this gun is accurate and will punch holes in baked bean cans at ranges up to 10 metres it seems a bargain to me.
    Umarex should be concerned!
You avoid the usual bb problems of return fire as you hit what you aim at and it is powerful- 426 fps. More than Umarex. Is it better than the Umarex S&W?
Not in build quality maybe but it is more powerful and I am going to do some proper targets later. Havent needed to adjust the sights yet!

We all know that speed isn't power, don't we?

    Power in foot-pounds is

(speed X speed X Weight in Grains)
    ---------------------------------
    450400

True but fps is highly important on round bb's!!! A bb travels quicker than a pellet due to aerodynamics. The quicker the fps the longer the bb will travel. If you look at say airsoft in particular sniper rifles - you require a high fps to reach range of say 50-90m.

    Looks nice

Yeh it does look nice. Was looking at it today, but the Colt Government Dark Ops took place over it in the end. I have a 586, 92F, P26, CP88 Nickel Walnut so the collection is growing. The dan maybe next after the Dark Ops I think :-)

Good one! Now we have all gone illegal by turning up the 'wick' on our apparently under powered guns

Yes if you'd used that formula you could be out by, ooh as much as 0.035%

The quantity that is generally accepted as 450240 is made up of some unit conversions and a value for the acceleration due to gravity (g). g is not a constant and can vary at different points on the earth's surface. Hence 450400 is just as correct as 450240 depending on where you're doing the test

450240 is the correct value for the Central Police Ballistics Laboratory location- actually it is 450240.0025 but just round it up - so there

Ok. not as good as the Umarex S&W but still innovative and fun.
Barrel not rifled so 6 yard target only. Also bbs do not leave nice round target holes to check.
Holes in tin cans up to 10 metres. Hitting cans at 15 metres. Empty shotgun cartridges at 10 metres no problem.
Still happy with it. Just going to polish my brass? shells.

I bought and sold a ruger superhawk. It was all steel, 8 shot revolver, and i can tell you this gun was a monster even in 6mm. It was 4j and shooting something like 600fps, and ripped through tins no sweat. It was hugely accurate too. Rockdrill bought it from me. He also had a look at the wesson, but said this was better made, i guess due to the all steel. Top gun that, have a look on the net. They do a chrome version too, thats stunning.

Ruger very similar to 6mm bb Dan Wesson. Bit of badge engineering?
