    Shepreth Results 14/02/10

A great day down the club, even though we were a bit on the quiet side, the rain stayed away and the slight wind was just enough to make you think about your shots. Well done to all the class winners, some very impressive scoring from Andrea (with a new PB!) in the open and Simon with a 58 in the cannonball class. Also, young Jonathan on his first UKA rules comp with a 52 - not bad for his 4th shoot! Thanks to those who helped setup, and of course to Sarah & Sue for keeping us all from starving Also thanks to Ryan for the company & banter round the course, always a laugh mate .

Great day today Mark, thanks to you and Con for being such good company. Awesome shooting from Andrea for the win and young Johnathon Chidzoy who doubled his score from last time.

Andrea would like to thank Sarah for wrapping up the cheesecake takeaway so well, it's given her, her first try of the famous Cheesecake!

Excellent course, excellent day: thank you to all the 'setters up' and to Sue and Sarah for refreshments.
Also a 'thank you' to Pete Dutton for his excellent company and words of wisdom around the course.
    Cheers, Phil

You sure those targets didn't move?

Another thoroughly enjoyable days shooting so thanks to all involved in setting it up.
Dad and I had a very nice round with Pete Dutton, whose methodical approach certainly seemed to brush off on Dad who boinged his way to beat me by 2 points. Again.
    In my defence I had run through a little check list following previous shoots debacles;
    1. The scope was attached to the rifle. Tightly.
    2. The scope was not touching any part of the rifle that might cause it to recreate a scene from Buck-A-Roo
    3. I had even checked the zero on the plinking range before it started.

    Sorted!
Or so I thought….. The fact that I got to 50 shows that my rangefinding was miraculously out by the same amount as my zero point. Having plated peg 30 (the stander at 30-32ish yards) I was a bit bewildered at what had happened so proceeded to pebbledash my remaining magazine at it.
And still missed it. Pete took two somewhat more considered shots and pointed out that my supposed 30-yard zero was hitting over an inch high and that the kill zone now had eyebrows.

A huge WELL DONE to Andrea with an absolutely stonking score , and also to her mum; I hope we’ll see here again! Not sure how Bruce would react if they both start whooping him… Mind you, that new improved Mk. II stock is a nice beastie isn’t it! Adjustable cheek piece, contoured sides, hot and cold sliding ashtrays… if he fits a hamster and palm grip it could technically be entered into Cowes week as a Catamaran.

I will returneth…. Just not sure with which gun. *cough*. Dad’s managed to pin me down to a class for the Worlds. The ‘make’ part is still blank though…. Eeny meeny miney……

My thanks to my shooting partners today, Roger(59) and Stuart(58) for helping to drag my score to a respectable level.
So I imagine the 6500 won`t be going anywhere soon Rog
Cheers Shep for a great day out,

    Andy
