As above, Serial No.16649 anybody know age/approx value. Cocks and fires , no serious marks in stock , Light rust pitting to metalwork.Thanks all.

Hi....Thats a june-november 1909 made gun.....hard to say without pics..is it all there...ie. sights etc, condition of screw heads, type of stock (straight or pistol grip)......if complete and patinated (rather than rust), gut feeling the high one hundreds maybe...ie.....£160+

Thanks ed,All complete. Screw heads good except trigger block (but not knackered) 0000 wire wool and gun oil leaves a pleasant finish to action, pistol grip type stock, nice old bugger this one . not worried about the value as I paid £65 for it so all ok. 1909 eh ..I expect some of the old "cogers" on this section were only youngsters when it was made.

Hi.......If it were mine I would have a quick look inside, and clean the bore whilst at it.........less than half an hours work to do, but you may save future damage.....as well as giving it a chance to show what it can do accuracy wise!

The usual things are pellets that have been sucked back whilst cocking ther gun.....due to loading before cocking....these get flattened in the end of the chamber, and can mess up the washer.....also, if the washer retaining screw is loose, this can wreck the thread in the piston head.....The thing is that with the heavy, cast steel machined pistons these have, they seem to still operate smoothly and quietly with potential damage causing problems inside....The only drawback of their quality build IMHO.
