    Question Barrel fitting.

For a while now iv had a problem with the sights on my 45/70 Pedersoli rolling block. It just didnt seem right but now iv sussed it. The barrel has come unscrewed slightly so the front sight is off set to the right a couple of degrees. A shooting mate told me there should be an alignment mark under the front wood (Ta Dave) so had a look and there it is, a few degrees off.
Any one fitted a barrel? Is it just a case of holding the barrel and tightening it or do you have to heat it up? Dont want to damage it but also dont want to pay out if i can do it myself. Tim

You can do it yourself but it should be incredibly tight to the action , You need to put the barrel in a vice padded with 1/4" thick hard leather and make a aluminium block up that only just slips into the action when the breech block is removed and crank the alloy block around with a large spanner but be very carefull you do not twist the reciever or damage the bluing.
