    Webley Winchester Rifle .177

    Hello All

I have a Erma modell ELG10 Winchester.177 which is stamped "Webley Ranger" on the barrel.:

Does anyone know anything about them?
Rifle is mint condition and has its original booklet with it.

    Thanks in advance.

Yep. Them is ten-a-penny. Got one in .177, .20, .22, .25, and standard half inch. They are made out of re-cycled Relum Jelly components, and make great under-pinning struts ...What else do ya wanna know ???

Yep, Kevin has a good theory about the BSF Mod.65 that it was an experimental model based around other BSF bits, but it never made main-stream production, so Ian's Mod.65, despite my jape as above, is as rare as the proverbial hens teeth. There ya go, now it is un-ruined for you.

Quite rare, sought after and the last mint one I saw went for £400

Experimental model - - I can live with that but why the high serial number ? (C958)
Why the unique (to BSF) stock and barrel length when, for example, Webley used modified stocks from rifles that were already in production?

    Thumbs up

I remember reading AGW with the Ranger on test I think about 1982'ish. I really wanted one too. No co2 to bother with like the later Walther version and more power than the Daisy version that I had.Cool. They must make a real fun plinker/can mangler.

I managed to have a play with one of these Ranger (Erma) rifles a few years ago. There build quality IIRC was very good.
