    Air Arms 410 leaking again!

    Hi

My pals 410 is leaking air! It looses about about 40bar in 3 hours.

It was doing the same this time last year - Rayleigh fixed it and charged 90.00
its only had 4 tins through it since.

Is this normal for Air Arms rifles or does he have a friday afternoon model?

    Thanks in advance!

The gauge and its block are known for leaks too.

Apologies if I'm asking the obvious but did you have the bolt closed when checking for leaks out the muzzle?

if its not coming from the muzzle or the filler then it might be the pressure guage

prob just needs an oring replacing in there it just unscrews make sure the gun is empty before checking this tho

or he can dab a little bit of gun oil round it to see if any bubbles come up then wipe it off

Nope, not normal per se although it's not desperately unusual for any PCP to spring a leak. My own sits quite happily for weeks on end without losing any pressure whatsoever.

It happens with guns of considerably greater quality and price. It's simply par for the course for a PCP to lose air once in a while. With anything relying on O rings for a seal it's pretty much inevitable sooner or later.

My s300 is upto its old tricks too, filled it this morning and it started leaking
I still took it to the club, and it did manage around an hour before the power fell too low,
Its leaking from the very end of the QD (ball bearing) I stripped the rifle fully down (everything in bits) and reassembled but it still leaks from the end of the QD (which was quite rusty inside)
There was a lot of debri inside the cylinder but thankfully no rust,

AirArms has had this rifle back once (many years ago) which cost me £70 iirc,

Il be having to buy a new male QD for the front in a few days,

    lots of takedowns
