It would be shame to leave it in this condition, but as there's no way you will get spares, it would need to be restored by someone both with restoration experience and a complete original to copy from. your bang on with the box,but sadly its only the bottom half and that is not in good condition
im going to clean it up over the weekend sometime with wire wool /oil
this surface ruest is very light,there is a lot of original bluing showing through ,i will post some pics
