    The one on my LP53 (ducks arse version) is alloy stuff with a steel liner. I think the square-ended one I had was like this too. I am not sure about the LP3, I think that was all-steel.

    Lp3

    The LP3 was sold with a similar type of alloy barrel casting to the LP53 but not round (although the rifled steel liner obviously was)

    However they also made a fewer number of LP3 pistols with all steel nicely blued circular barrels. (got one of each - lovely old guns)
