    BSA Stutzen valuation

    Hello all,

    I have a BSA Stutzen .22 which I believe dates from 1985/1986 (I may be wrong, just going from the serial number). I have owned it for a year or so but not really used it... It's in excellent condition, just some loss of blueing on the edge of the loading tap (I say blueing, 1980'2 style BSA blueing anyway!).

    To be honest I'm in two minds about selling it, but was after a valuation from you knowledgable folks to help me decide.... could do with the money at the moment, but at the same time not sure that I want to sell something I may regret.

    It may be that I just need to pull my finger out, and start using it - but, it's a bit of a luxury item as my Air Arms pair would fill any springer style hunting needs.... I have just recently moved & joined a club which once I get a bit of free time will be making as much use of as I can. Will I regret selling this a year or two down the line?

    Any suggestions re value or whether just to hang on to it would be greatly appreciated.....

    Some pics..... if I can get this photobucket thing to work..... (well, user error...)

    Cheers,

    Tim

    Yeuch, I don't recon much to that Pro-Sport you've got. If you're embarrassed by it I'll let you keep it in my gun cupboard
    The South of England has 2 good things, the M1 and the A1. Both will take you to Yorkshire.

    Interesting, but the one as pictured/asked about above, is not an RB-2 variant, but a tap loader model. RB-2 examples do command better prices.

    Was one (now gone) on a "trade" site for £165 last week...reasonable condition in .22 Cal...sold quickly though!

    Any gun is only as valuble as someone wants to pay for it...

    [QUOTE=TRS1;4174951]Hello all,

    To be honest I'm in two minds about selling it,

    Well if that's the case, if you can't get a minimum of £300 for it keep it.

    Hi Sam. If mint (and I know that when you say mint, you mean mint ), for an RB-2, think we are all agreed, that is about right. But the rifle being debated here is a vgc looking (not mint) tap loader, so I stand by my £250.

    HWVixen has put it in a nutshell, your piece is worth what-ever someone is willing to pay for it. The Blue Book values are American based and can only be used as a rough guide, and are by no means chiselled in stone.
