Question How long before you use a new set up ?

    Hi all

How long do you wait until you use your new rifle in a comp ?

I am going to try HFT with an entirely new set up and was first worried that I may be even worse than before and that others may jest or mock me for being sh i te .
I now think that I would just like to use a superb gun and enjoy shooting it , getting to know it so to speak .

Do you use your guns straight away or spend an age getting them up and ready ??? Be honest . lol

Dave, you really should be used to it by now, they will all saunter over, have a nosy at your shiny new kit, nod approvingly then walk of and call you "one who partakes in onanism" as soon as they're out of earshot.

    Me cynical, never.

Just enjoy yourself mate and let the those who mock get on with it.

By the by you can't shoot for **** though.

If I'm lucky and my kidney plays nice after getting to Mileoak next Sunday for the first SiHFT round, I'll be shooting my S400 (with newly fitted adjustable butt pad) for the first time since the Southern Hunter shoot at Ford.

I set it up and take it around a course straight away. If it works, then that's it.

However, I won't replace a comp rig unless i'm happy i've got it set up exactly as I want, and if i haven't done that, then it stays at home until I can, even though it may be better.
