Question The Kneeling Position? F/T H-F/T

I don't compete in F/T or H-F/T. I play at club level only

But I've noticed that in the kneeling position, most peep's don't really kneel, they sit on the heel of the foot that's under their ar5e
    So that's what I'm doing

But, is this the correct position? Or should there be a gap distance between heel and ar5e

How is it in the comp's?

Smile no you are correct mate!

your **** must contact the back of the heel, and the toes must be in contact with the ground!

in otherwords your not allowed to tilt the foot and sit on it!

also when in this position the leading arm, the wrist must be forward of the knee!

in otherwords you cant rest your hand on top of the knee!

theres differance aswell with using cushions for the two disciplines!

in H.F.T. you can only use the cushion to protect your knee!

in F.T. you can effectively roll or stuff the cushion under the shin!

if you have a cushion handy try it and see the differance!

it's a lot harder to shoot in this position if your not supported!

hope this helps you in some way!!!

This is not completely true, unfortunately. Some HFT clubs/leagues do not use the UKAHFT rules and allow free use of beanbags as long as the gun is not in contact with it. I think the UKAHFT rules will become the default, especially if the series keeps growing, but they're certainly not at present.

Hint: try to make your kneeling position almost into a crouch. The base of your spine can contact the rear heel, with the toes of the rear foot on the floor and the sole of the foot as near to vertical as possible.

Your body position wants to be not far off square to the target, so your chest is pointing at say 70 degrees to the shot line. The front leg should be pointing roughly at the target, with the shin vertical or pointing away from the body, not tucked back towards you. The hips and the shoulders must be in the same plane, i.e., you don't want to be twisted. If you can keep the front arm tight in so that it's the forearm close to the wrist - not your elbow - that is on your front knee, it does help to minimise left-right sway.

Yes it does hurt, if you're not very supple. Long limbs don't help unfortunately.

PS yes I sometimes miss them too.
