    .25 Webley Eclipse

Anyone got any ideas on the value of the above in good condition ?

I'm not selling one, but a possible purchase is in the offing.

    Exocet .25

    Hi David,
I've never heard of one in .25...or seen one for sale or mentioned in Webley advertising. But I imagine you have reserched this, and if you are considering buying, it must be a genuine factory model. A normal Exocet in exceptional condition is never going to exceed £100 - £120 IMO. Can't imagine what a .25 would fetch, is it Std or Carbine, I would presume beech stock? was a Walnut stock ever offered on this model?. I would be really interested in your deliberations and final decision on the rifles provenance.

    Hi Rob,

It wouldn't normally be of interest, but as it's a .25 and quite a rarity, I'm pursuing it further.
I know some were made for export, but there are a few more things I have to check on, as I've only just been told of it's possible availability.

I've been told that none were officially made for the UK market, so it's either a special factory order, or an FAC Export model.
If it turns out to be the latter, it will be of no interest to me.
I won't know which until I see it and check the serial number and barrel stampings, plus chrono it if necessary.

Had another call from the owner today, and it turns out not to be an Xocet, but a .25 Eclipse.
It's a carbine with a nicely figured Beech stock, and in superb condition.

The .25 Webley Eclipse Mk.2 Carbine is now mine, along with a superb boxed .22 BSA Airsporter 'S' Mk.1. Pity it's not a .177 as the serial number is GM00177.

I've now been told there were less than 100 of the .25 Eclipse made for the UK market, so, although not as rare as a .25 UK Xocet, if it exists at all, not exactly thick on the ground.
I know of one other in a Friend's collection, but how many more are in BBS'ers hands. ?

    Like a .25 Eclipse, Dave
I've only test fired it so can't really give an in depth analysis.
