    black powder retailers

Does anyone know of any black powder retailers in Essex or surrounding areas?
Also who sells the boxes to put the powder in?
Sorry if this has been asked before.
    Thanks

I have only just got into muzzle loaders (side by side 16 bore) so all this is new to me.
I have just joined a club so I hope to get more involved. Trouble is its a bit like being a kid in a sweet shop .
Thanks for the info I will make a phone call

As far as I know, the nearest for south east England is GT Shooting. Keep meaning to ring up and find out what they stock.

Pete Starley quoted me £26 carriage I think so you need a reasonable size order to make it worth while.

Ouch ! - Didn't realise he was that expensive on the carriage

Worth having a day over at Bisley for the Phoenix & stocking up - but don't forget to pre-order as he does not carry a lot of surplus (as I found out last year - DOH !!)

Suggest you are sitting down when you see the price of the powder then

You'd be amazed at the number of hoops he has to jump through to import and stock the black stuff. Thank God for Peter Starley is all I can say

    Hi Robin

I buy all my BP from Peter - but always face to face at Bisley

Hence my 'ouch' on the carriage - as I never pay it !

(just have to guesstimate how much I need to tide me over until the next time he ventures to the MLAGB red & white hut !!!

    Cheers

    Hi Jim

No - sorry for the confusion .....

When Peter Starley comes down to do the big (well big for us !!) shows at Bisley - the BP needs to be away from the main area where his other trade stands are & he sets up his BP 'sales' in the MLAGB clubhouse

So if you pre-book your BP - thats where you meet him to collect etc

    Cheers

By request of the other traders, no doubt!

Was just curious as I'm an MLAGB member.

Pantiles is at the other end oif the street to Chris Potter. Come out of his shop and turn right, keep walking and you will find Pantiles on your left (IIRC).
The South of England has 2 good things, the M1 and the A1. Both will take you to Yorkshire.
