    Markings on a BSA Cadet - help required

    Just purchased a BSA Cadet from here and was trying to establish the wording on the top of the Barrel

    The Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd
    Cadet (BSA Logo) 1.77 ? and then what looks like GR **
    Made In England

    If I am correct the serial number (B61905) relates to production between1946-48.

    Any ideas what comes after the BSA Logo, or am I just imagining things ?

    Any advice greatfully received.

    After .177, it should read 'Air Rifle'.

    Many thanks Mike - once I can see what wording I am looking for it all makes sense (although I still need a magnifying glass to check it, as the inscription is that faint)

    It's like those damn silly books you get at the Optician (when they check if you are colour blind) where you have to pick the number shown out of a shed load of different coloured dots - you know there is something there, but you are not sure what !
