    Fairground airgun pics

Here's some pics a friend sent me, taken with his mobile phone so aren't very good. They were snapped at a fair in north London.

Strange looking Gat "rifles", so you can hold the gun steady while you miss the target.

Three shots £2 and seven shots £4.

How often do people have to be told - for accuracy NEVER rest on a solid surface!

    GATs

Both the rifle and the pistol are indeed GATs, courtesy of TJHarrington.
The rifle from circa 1988 and the pistol the later 1982 on model. I wonder how many shots they've had through them? Neither are renowned for their accuracy and you could easily miss the kettle from that distance.LOL.

So, if you really must 'have a go'.choose one of the 'proper' rifles.

    Carl.

Was it really 3 shots for £1? My God, either they were using 18 ct gold pellets or I am way out touch with current fairground prices.

Were these pics taken at Hampstead Heath fair? I used to go every year when I was growing up in London and have many fond memories of this fair. I recall using a BSA Bucanneer against belt driven targets. No prizes - just the fun of shooting on a cracking range. I once won a 4 foot tall Sylvester cat when we were courting and think Josie may still have him in the loft somewhere. Biggest thing I ever won!
    Kind regards,
    John

Yes John, the one in East Heath car park. I went to that fair once or twice when I was a lad too, maybe about 33 or 34 years ago. I remember clearly they had a booth back then where you could fire rifles using .22 short cartridges.
