Been looking around the US web sites? but are there any UK dealers/shops that do custom bits for crossman pistols (2240) like breech's that have scope rails and wood grips??

gmac custom parts,gordon supplied and fitted my parts to my crosman 2240,he is a great bloke and his knowledge on guns is second to none.

Postage from the states is crippling

does anyone know if fitting a 177 breach/barrel kit to a standard 2240 would take it over the limit ? Or am I better just lengthening the barrel to achieve 5ftlbs? It is for putting the lights out on rats caught in cages.

I fitted a 14in Ratcatcher barrel to a 2240 and it went straight over the limit. I had to cut it back to 9in to get it on 6ft/lbs, but I'm gonna be watching very carefully if we get hot weather. Get yourself a barrel from gmac.

If it's more or less point blank, then standard 2240 in .22 should be fine. Jim at Crooked Barn manages to squeeze out 5.8ft/lbs (the highest I would go due to temperature variations on the CO2) with a 7" barrel and a stronger hammer spring.
