    My New Sako Quad

Well i can only make a small short report for now.

got it saturday morning from Nico.243 who had it all packed in the shop ready to go.(thanks Daz.)

We had planned to go shooting last night but thing came up.

1, i am going up north today and will be away on the road for a couple of days so spent the time with the family,

2,Then Darren is shooting on the range this morning, so he was best of keeping the cookie jar full as well by staying in.

    So the new Sako quad.

Well i popped out just to check it out, and i can only say one thing,

i was shocked, i had some really bad feed problems with the 22lr (oops, forgot to mention that i have to pick the 17hmr barrel up later this week so i am only reporting on the 22lr side today)

I found that the bullet was so far out of alignment that i was worried that i had a duff rifle. so i undid the barrel and did it up again,

well that done it, it seemed to get better as i got a few more rounds down range, i found that the bolt was also a bit tight and not as smooth as i was expecting, so lets hope it gets better and better as it goes on.

i like the feel of the rifle and the uncut barrel seems to be OK from the vehicle for now, but i may in the end get them both chopped, but not sure yet.

its accuracy was good at this stage prodicing a 50p sized lost count of the shots fired hole at 50 yards,

i will have to set the trigger up later too as its like trying to pull a bird at your first school disco.

so the overall impression so far is.

    its ok

i have to admit i did love my CZ's i just hope this wee rifle performs for me, so that i can at some point say i love it too.

    updates to follow.

heres a picture with the dm80 on it.

Bob you will find that the Quad bolt is a 2 piece unit so when pushed forward using the bolt handle it can cause it to be tight, if you push the bolt forward using say your thumb pushing on the back of the bolt it goes forward easily. ATB Nick.

Close the bolt before you nip up the barrel.

I've got a Sako Quad. Where did you order the cheek piece from, if you don't mind me asking?

sure you will enjoy it, was out with mine this morning.

on a side note, i must say that of the 2 or 3 i've shot the bolt hasn't been stiff, maybe get someone to take a look at it.
