I would argue that the barrel is not a smooth barrel which does not impart any spin on the projectile.

It relies on a shape at the end to shape and rotate the pellet/bullet as it passes though and out of the barrel.

To all intents and purposes it is a type of rifling.

As for SA 22LR, your welcome to them. Bl00dy horrible things.

To one shot one kill, you need to seek the S. Kill only comes from Skill

Will let you know as I'm seeing him this week but in all honesty the water is a bit murky here and as said by others, no manufacturer really wants to stick their neck on the line or break a gentlemans agreement. I have heard though that Daystate have been looking at a SA for the American market.
I'd go for a rimmie though as these are brilliant fun and do what they're supposed to. More to go wrong on an air rifle if you want SA especially at our lower powers plus it would push the price up too. Airrifles as you know are already dearer than firearms.

    Also .22wmr

Basically all the .22 rimfire round (.22lr & .22wmr) were the only rifles allowed to keep SA status in the UK. All other calibres were not allowed including all air rifles.

The reason most of us see .17hmr and .17mach2 not allowed is because it was introduced as a calibre after the rules were amended.
Although its never likely to be considered in the future, like most good things.

Having said the above, if / when the rule book is revised.
I'd be concerned for .22 rimfire SA 's future over here

As usual Mr. Cooper is right. I have had the priveledge to shoot an AirWolf SA 50ft/lb. It was a prototype, and indeed a superb gun. Also indeed not for the Uk market for reasons previously mentioned. With the present paranoia, we will do our best to keep shooting what we have, it has been made, but I doubt we will ever get to use one in the field. The .22 rimmy SA, is a spendid gun but would never work on my permission due to small fields and footpaths. I am very happy with a ten shot bolt action S10. I am sure that I, as many, would generally take the quarry with the first shot or not at all.

As some of you have mentioned Daystate have built a semi automatic based on an Air Wolf MVT I think, one of the guys in our club has seen it though I can't remember if he shot it, whilst he was there a while back.
