Red face 2250 Target Style Pistol Build

If you have read any of my posts you might have seen me rambling on about a pistol ive been building for longer than I can remember I thought I would post it here in parts for anyone interested to see.

The idea of this pistol was to build a target style pistol using a crosman 2250 as a base, and add as many of my own ideas as possible to make it something differant, and as a first proper project on my mill.

My first steps where designing the thing using sketchup (don't have proper software )

After playing around this is what I came up with:

As you can see it has a completely differant grip/frame, metal breech and some other bits. If you look carefully you might be able to guess which pistols I got my inspiration from.

The first part I made was the breach. I found some plans on a russian website which I moddified slightly so my breach would have a small rise. Because this was for a target pistol I also decided to make it left handed so that I wouldn't have to take my hand of the grip to load a pellet.

I will post more later if anyone is interested in seeing it

That breech looks very nicely engineered. I admire anyone who can make stuff like that.

It looks like an interesting project, I'll keep my eye on this thread for more.

    Fantastic looking breech!

    Please keep the thread updated.

If your workworking skills are as high as your engineering talent I can't wait to see the grips!

    Great work.

    Cheers

Thanks guys, Although the breach might look pretty it has a small, rather annoying and puzzling problem. The bolt cycles fine when not mounted, but when it is attached to the tube the resistance of the hammer spring makes it become difficult to cock. The bolt leaves some scaring inside the breach which makes it get stuck after about 20-30 cycles.

PS ill post some more pics tomorrow
