Thumbs up Sussex Interclub Round 3 Results

    Good evening one and all.

After a long overdue, well earned, and VERY long soak in the bath I have finally got around to sorting the results from today’s splendidly soggy Round 3 of the Sussex Interclub, hosted with great aplomb by my very own Swallows FTC.

Hope you all enjoyed yourselves. This was the best turn out of the season so far (75 entries) – excellent considering the weather was far from spring-like, though somewhat better than forecast. And we saw a lot of new faces too; very much the purpose of our local series.

Usual plea for notification (BBS PM is best for me at moment), should you spot any errors or omissions. Given the VERY soggy state of the score cards – some where reduced to wet tissue – I should not be surprised if I get a rash of these.

After a couple of days with only a couple of hours sleep – preparing for today – I shall probably have an early night. So please do not expect me to be an active participant in any banter on this thread until at least tomorrow afternoon.

All the best - now looking forward to round 4 at Horsham.

Well done Mike-your hard work is much appreciated
My Nephew and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to your club today.

Congratulations on your clear round today-to knock them all over in those conditions required a massive amount of concentration-both you and Nick B should be very proud of your achievement.

An out of town Hobbit said to me today "This is fantastic we don't have anything like this up our way." Or words to that effect and he didn't have a great score today.

Now to me having been there at the begining made me feel that yes we are getting it right and down on the South (God I hate that word) coast we are getting HFT at a fun level to the people.

Now if other counties could do the same how this great pastime could grow.

UKAHFT have standardised rules for all to follow and we have adopted if other regions could follow the Sussex model who knows where it might end. A new club joined the fray today and they are an airgun club knowing nothing of UKAHFT rules but they came played and had a great day.

County based leagues, regional championships grooming people for the Nationals etc. getting lots and lots of new shooters through those doors.

The people of Sussex and people who travel huge distances to shoot in Sussex I salute you.
