    S400 / S410 trigger tuning guide

    Guys,

After a few recent questions regarding the S4x0 trigger, I’ve put together the following guide on adjustment and sear polishing:

    Proceed at your own risk!

I've been unhappy with the trigger on my a410 for a while now, but lacked the confidence to fiddle! However now i can see that there's not much to get wrong!

    thanks

Very nicely done, Kevin. If I don't sell my S410 I'll have it apart.

    Arrow Trigger tuning/ Compressed air

Kevin, whilst the trigger is in bits is the compressed air in the gun safe or does the cylinder have to be emptied completely first?

    (just for peace of mind!)

    Cheers, John.

Trigger disasembly on the S4x0 with the gun charged should not cause any problems, but it is always safer to empty it first

Hi guys, I just bought a new S400, and it comes with Nick Jenkinson's 3 sear trigger as standard, it's real "breaking glass" quality. When I was following Ter's trigger-tune guide some time ago on my old S400, I noticed an empty hole for an extra pin in the chassis plate. (This was when Nick's trigger was a £70 add-on.) I ordered the new parts from AA, £26, and converted my older gun, It really makes a difference.

Do you have any pics of the internals?

Hi Ter... I have to confess I don't know how to attach pics yet!
On the second photo of your tuning guide, you can see the extra hole.
The new top sear has a different outline, the middle sear, (the old lower sear), looks the same. The new sears contact surfaces are polished, but I buffed them up a bit. I had to file off some bad pressing, and a bit of the trigger to clear the new third sear. (the new trigger with the safety doesn't need this). I was speaking to NJ at a shoot in South Devon on Sunday, and he said it was better to use all new sears. It really is a cracking trigger, 100% predictable, and I'm convinced it's made a difference to my shooting.
    Part nos. from AA are,

    S320-2 Top sear
    S321-2 Bottom sear
    S325-2 Middle sear
    S326 Chassis pin (small)
S329 Chassis pin spacer (small).... (little O-ring!)

    HTH Gus.
