    scope valuation

i have an old bsa 4x20 scope i think its around 30 years old ,has the bsa logo on both the caps and the tube also says japan on the underside, the tube itself has a dovetail on the bottom and there is a one peice mount that the scope can slide along in and locks to the scope and the gun which is a really good idea, it has a T type cross hair and is in very good nick any idea on its worth please ????

Probably worthless. A few mint in box make up to £35, but, and its a big but, most are worthless. The 4x20 has been produced in massive numbers, even given away with magazines. They have been badged with all sorts of makers/manufacturers names. Every scope maker has made them in vast quantities. On the whole they are next to useless. A very few were made to a high quality and some really old ones might have value but even then not a lot £5-10 unless mint.

i know what your saying and i have also seen loads of these, but i have not seen one with a dovetail on the underside of the scope i think it was for the airsporter/mercury so you can slide the scope way back while the mounts stay fixed to the gun
