    where does that bit go??

    last Sunday my cp88 broke

the trigger stopped going back to its start position when it was fired, so i took it apart today and identified the problem. the little spring sort of thing, (looks like the spring from a cloths peg) that goes over the bit where the trigger goes on has snapped, I've got a new one but i cant remember which way on its supposed to go,

    here's a pic

in the top left hand corner it the bit.
the red circle is the thing i think it goes over and the yellow line shows it over the top,

then there's the bit I'm not sure of, the green orange and blue lines are the possible ways it can go on, and im not sure which one it is

i think its the blue but I'm not sure

it might not be any of them

any help would be greatly appreciated
    cheers

It must be the blue line Sol, the other positions are just butting up against another fixed part. The spring should act on a moving part on one arm while the other presses against a fixed part. The spring shape sometimes gives a clue. In your case the arm with a curve looks to be made to lie against something round and the straight arm to lie along a flat surface.

If you still can't fix it let me know, I'll go and see Don and take his to bits for you.

And next time, take a pic before you take it to bits

    cheers Jef.

i thought it was the blue for the same reasons that you said but i couldn't remember.

i would have taken a photo but as it was snapped it wasn't in position for me to look at so i had to remember from the last time i took one apart which was a while ago.

ill try putting it back together now and see how it goes.

If you were closer I'd say drop in, bring a beer & we'll fix it at the dining table
As you're a bit distant for that how about some photos?
Is the externally visible drive rod on the right of the gun in place and free?
That's about all I can think off hand,

    I knew it was

But just in case I replied

How's the CP99 you bought in that bundle, is it a runner? I need the base of the mag and the brass screw for mine and Chambers are out of stock

If it's a gonner can I buy the spares?

if it was a gonner you could have had the bits,
unfortunately its as good as new, bar a little cosmetic damage.

i need to order 2 of some items on chambers and they've only got one in stock and i cant put them on back order until they are out of stock.
might give them a ring tomorrow or something

cheers, i need to work out whats wrong with the colt before i order bits so i can save on postage.

the only problem is it wont fire in double action.

when the side is opened up without a co2 thing in there you can see the trigger bar going back and forth, however it doesn't go back when the trigger is pulled in double action, instead it just goes up a couple of mm, when i stick a screw driver down there and push down(down as in to the bottom of the gun) it works fine.
the other thing ive noticed is it works in double action if the hammer is pulled back a cm(not fully cocked) and then put back to the rest position, it seems to catch hold of something on the hammer.

is it the trigger bar that's worn out or is there something missing from the gun??
    or none of the above.

    Sol,
all the multi-shot double action Umarex guns I've stripped have a spring or sprung mechanism to bias the connecting rod so it catches the lug on the hammer on the pull but can ride over or under it on the return.

I can have a look at mine if you like, i didn't take photos when I stripped it and can't remember the mechanism
Time I had it apart again, I've a compensator coming and I want to fit a longer barrel and smooth out the mechanism at the same time
