I have a similar Walther LG300, (no XT)with a blue painted wooden stock.
Wouldnt know why a wooden stock would be a disadvantage.
Maybe weight/balance wise vs laminated stock.
But those LG300's are greast rifles, nomatter what stock!

My wife has an LG300xt Junior in the laminated stock, superb rifle. The wood stock is as good as the ally ones shooting wise, has a little less simple adjustability but can with care be set up to fit just as well. It takes a bit more effort to set up weight and ballance, she has weights in the butt and the fore end to get it perfect. The wood has a nicer tactile feel to the touch and a nicer (not so dead) feel when shot to the alloys, many top level shooter have stuck to wood and some who didn't have gone back to it. A good choice, good shooting.
