airsporter o ring problem need advice please

I have tried fitting a new o ring to my mk6 airsporter. But when i push it in the slot for the cocking slide slices a chunk out of the new o ring , Its as if the o ring is too thick any ideas or advice i have tried gun grease and silicon oil with no luck should i change the nylon end piece .

Strip it down and degrease, then sand or gently file these sharp edges off the cocking slot. They will be on the inside of the cylinder itself.
Over time, the cocking lever rubs against the sides of the cocking lever slot ,which then over time, causes the metal to burr upwards into the cylinder. Gives it edges as sharp as a knife.

    Hi grumpar

As Sabo says, file and smooth the cocking lever slot and try again.

If you're still having trouble with the standard 1 1/8" od X 1/8" section ring then try using a 1 1/16" od X 1/8" section ring.
One drop of SM50 in the O ring groove and smeared on the ring itself is all the lube you should need.

Forgot to say; most good old motorfactors carry O rings but just check that they are 70 shore hardness or above.
